Koinotita: “The Community of Believers”

From the start of the Parish there seemed to be a desire to come together as a community supporting each other. For years the Parish has had a Parish Picnic that seems to always draw a large crowd. The coffee and donuts have always been a big draw after the 9:00 AM Mass. With the onset of Covid-19 in 2020 and the restrictions that followed, Coffee and Donuts seemed to be out of reach, until Fr. John Daniel and the Parish Staff arranged to have the Donuts individually wrapped and people could take them home with them. This solution enabled Donuts to be available not only after the 9:00 a.m. Mass but also after the 11:30 a.m. Mass. When we were able to return to Coffee and Donuts in the Parish Hall (Karen McLaughin Hall) they were no longer served just after the 9:00 a.m. Mass but also after the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Since February of 2025 there has also been Coffee with the Padre in the Parish Hall after the 9:00 a.m. daily Mass.

With support of the Pastor and the leadership of the Lay Dominicans on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, in 2023 the Parish expanded the Corpus Christi procession from the Parish grounds of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish to including Ashley Pond where Benediction is celebrated and the Procession concludes back at the Church with Benediction. The expanded procession has been well received by the Parish and the Community at large.
