Confirmation at IHM for teens


Strengthened by the Holy Spirit

Confirmation is the sacrament in which baptized Catholics are strengthened by the Holy Spirit and sealed as full members of the Church. Through preparation, candidates grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and learn how to live as disciples in the world.

Confirmation Preparation Requirements

  • Students in 8th grade who have been attending Religious Education are eligible for First Year Confirmation.
  • Students who have had a gap in their Religious Education must be in High School and will join First Year Confirmation.
  • Second Year Confirmation Class is for those who have completed First Year Confirmation.
  • Attendance at all required classes and retreats
  • Completion of service hours
  • Selection of a Confirmation sponsor


Confirmation Sponsors

  • Must be a fully initiated Catholic (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation)
  • At least 16 years old
  • Actively practicing the Catholic faith
  • May not be the candidate’s parent


Schedule & Important Dates

  • Confirmation Mass will be held on May 15, 2026 at 6:30 P.M.


Registration

  • For school year 2026-2027, registration will open in Spring 2026.
