What is OCIA?
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a welcoming process for adults who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Whether you are curious, baptized in another Christian tradition, or have never been baptized, OCIA offers a supportive space to ask questions, grow in faith, and discern next steps.
Who Is OCIA For?
- Adults who have never been baptized
- Adults baptized in another Christian tradition
- Baptized Catholics who have not received First Communion or Confirmation
- Anyone curious about the Catholic faith
When & Where
- Location: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish
- Schedule: Weekly sessions (dates and times announced soon)
- Cost: No cost to participate
Do I need to be Catholic to attend?
No. OCIA is open to anyone interested in learning about the Catholic faith.
Is this a class or a commitment?
OCIA is a journey of learning and discussion. There is no pressure or obligation to join the Church.
When do people usually receive the sacraments?
Those who choose to continue typically receive the sacraments at Easter, but each person’s journey is unique.
Can I join if I already attend Mass?
Yes. OCIA is open to all adults seeking a deeper understanding of the faith.
